Default Bioshock

Well because it was really really rainy today and the toystore didn't have GW:EN I decided to buy Bioshock.

At first I thought "my PC will run it decently". Well, decently it is. But that's all.
I'm running on an Althon 64 3800+ / 6800 GT / 2 GB RAM and I have to play it on medium texture and no special effects enabled in order to run it smoothly.

Apart from the fact that Bioshock is a monster that will eat semi-old PCs alive, it's an awesome game. The atmosphere is quite weird, sort of scary but not as Doom scary where you get scared by screaming monsters all the time.

Playing it on medium, it's quite hard already. No, I'm not some FPS nub who's never played FPSs, it's the lack of ammo and the speed at which the monsters move.

Humor is also a nice thing. At some point in the beginning you see a lady with a baby carriage, saying things about how cute her baby is. When you come closer, she starts whacking you, after you've shot her, there's a huge revolver in the baby carriage. Good stuff

I've only just started and I quite like it already.

Anyone else wanna share an opinion?

I scored it last week on my reasonably high specced pc - 8800GTX, 4gb ram etc.

One of the best games ive played in a pretty long while, not sure if thats the fact that PC gaming has been quite dry for the past while, (imo) But yeah, it was well worth the buy.

My first run through was on medium which i got one ending, and then i ran through it again to get another on hard, (Weirdly enough on hard it was EASIER, but this was probably due to the fact that on my medium run through i didnt use the camera at all, while on hard i did and got some huge bonuses off of it.)

I've finished it in 2 days :P It was indeed one of the most amazing ( non-multiplayer ) FPSs I've played. I've been harvesting every Little Sister on my path, going to rescue them all now to see if there's a different ending

I must say I'm having a LOT of fun with the different kinds of Plasmids, lighting someone on fire, electricuting, freezing etc

It'd be nice if they made a multiplayer for this!

You can get one that runs Bioshock decently for like $150, make sure you have a ton of RAM as well :P

I'm running it on amd 64 X2, 7900 gt sli, with 3gb of rams. The graphice is one of the best I even seen, and the gameplay reminded me so much of System Shock 2. I just can't bring myself to harm any of the sisters. lol Nearly finish it as well, I think.

About how much time does it take to finish the game? I mean the storyline.

I finished it in 2 days, playing extensively all day. So lets say 20 hours on medium, getting all the Little Sisters. It seems kind of short, but this game definitely has a high replay value. Finishing it for the 3rd time now
